We recently had the opportunity to take a family "vacation" to Jordan.  One of the surprises was this large water system at Tell es-Saidiyeh.  Here the boys are climbing down a staircase more than 2500 years old.   The boys liked the rental car.  Unlike our van, they each sat next to a door and could push the button to lower the window and open the door themselves.  I didn't always let them get out with me to take a quick picture, so here Luke awaits my return.

We found one man who was plowing his field and Luke got a chance to get on the man's horse.   But dad was more interested in seeing Luke learn how to plow :-).  Mark was sick this day and stayed in the car.

Then we traveled to Galilee for a few days.  How many kids can answer the question, "Where did Jesus walk on the water?" the way Mark can?   The boys love any attention they get from the students and here they take advantage of an offer of a ride on the raft.

Mark's birthday was Nov 19 and we had a family lunch and time of presents in IBEX Park.  From this picture it is clear that Mark is not the only one excited about the gifts.   Mark really liked his "tool set" and insisted on carrying it the whole way home.

We took the opportunity to take a nap on the hammock.    Dad was more interested in sleeping than the others were.   There are lots of steps in the park which Bethany took advantage of.

That evening we had Mark's birthday cake with a few of those who weren't away on the Travel Break.  Mark chose to have a "dog cake" this year.   This gave us an opportunity for a photo of the "IBEX kids."  That number went up one a few weeks ago with the birth of Eitan Schlegel.

Kelli's grandmother passed away in November.  This is a four-generation picture that we took with her this past summer.

5-year-olds can have tough days too.
