Flash Flood in Negev

Here’s a remarkable home-made video of a flash flood in the Negev of Israel.  The cameraman and his companions don’t strike me as very smart, and the footage is shaky, but you’ll get the idea.

“Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negev” (Ps 126:4).

  1. ok thats awesome! do we know what part of the negev that was in? Umm Todd I saw a landrover in the background… are you sure the camera man wasnt really you? haha BUSTED! Great footage though 🙂

  2. Hi Guys
I actually live there and we have seen it coming, this flood. It is forming way before and by chance the ranger saw it before.
This river crosses very close to Sdom. It is in the Arava valley/southern part of the evaporation pools of Dead Sea Works.

  3. Scott – this looks like a very small flash flood. Nearly every year there is a death(s) caused by flash floods. They can be very large, even washing out bridges that are modern and large, as at En Gedi in about 2000. A few months ago four Israeli hikers were killed in Wadi Qumran when a flash flood hit.
